Despite wet and cold weather during our annual serve weekend in April, 282 people turned out to volunteer with us this spring in 24 different projects across the county. These dedicated community members supported our efforts to beautify and enrich Tuolumne County by:
- Building a “barber shop” area at Nancy’s Hope for free haircuts for those in need
- Cleaning up Woods Creek Rotary Park in partnership with Chicken Ranch Rancheria
- Collecting pet food donations for families in need with Tuolumne Spay and Neuter
- Creating and hanging decorations for Columbia’s annual Cinco de Mayo celebration
- Gardening at Resiliency Village
- Improving and repairing sidewalk in downtown Tuolumne along Bay Street
- Preparing garden beds at Interfaith Community Social Services
- Removing invasive vegetation from Woods Creek at Sonora High School
- Repainting the historic locomotive in downtown Tuolumne
- Repairing fencing at Standard Park
- Repairing fencing, leveling the ground in corrals, and raking the barn at Chester & Push Horse Rescue
- Trail building and maintenance at Dondero Airport Trail in Columbia
- Vegetation clearing and weed whacking along Mono Way
- Walking adoptable dogs with Friends of the Animal Community and encouraging adoptions during Twain Harte’s “Who Let the Dogs Out” parade
- Washing vehicles, cleaning, and writing notes of encouragement at WATCH Resources
- Weed whacking and garden preparation at Summerville Parent Nursery School
- Weed whacking and maintenance at the Sierra Bible Church disc golf course
- Weed whacking and pressure washing, painting, and staining the play structure at Heaven for Kids park
- Weed whacking at Sonora City Cemetery
- Weed whacking at Table Mountain Trailhead in Jamestown
